Puerto del Carmen has been an established tourist resort on Lanzarote for over 40 years. It is situated only about 10 minutes’ drive from the airport, and remains as popular as ever with holidaymakers to Lanzarote. As with many resorts across Europe, the start of its popularity amongst UK and Irish tourists dates back to the early’60’s – when packaged holidays abroad started to replace the UK seaside holiday.
